Greetings and Happy Fall!
It’s bitter sweet to be done with the Parkrose Farmer’s Market for this year. The shift in schedule brings a welcome period of rest and reflection, but I sure do miss the weekly interaction with all the lovely people I’ve met at the market! Hopefully some of you are here because you wanted to stay in touch post-market season, so I’m here to deliver some news to you!
Next Month, October 10th, is the tentative date I’ve chosen for trying out a farmstand at the homestead. For simplicity’s sake, the hours will remain 9am-2pm, and I’ll be offering a variety of fall goodies to help you stock your pantry (and your friend’s?). Stay tuned for more on what I’ll be offering, and if you haven’t already, consider “following” my site to receive word when I’ve added a new post. Thanks for looking, and feel free to use the contact form for getting in touch!
Update Edit (Oct.2): Well, as they say, “expect the unexpected.” I am still recovering after the recent loss of our duck flock to racoons, which happened after this was originally posted. The loss is one many farmers and even backyard gardeners experience far too often, and despite our best efforts at building a bomb-proof coop, these critters were able to point out a few “mistakes” we made in our design. The effect has been a major setback in my timeline for getting ready for our first farmstand. I would like to push this date back a week, to the 17th of October. I will make an effort to finalize this date and advertise on the Parkrose Farmer’s Market Facebook page as the date approaches. Thanks again for everyone who has supported us this year. You help keep us going!
